Pores: We work to reach “Yemen without mines”

Qasim Al -Dossary, Assistant Director General of the Massam project to purify Yemeni lands of mines, said that the project seeks to reach “Yemen without mines,” pointing to the challenges they face as a result of the random agriculture carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia.

He added in an interview published by the project website, “We have a goal that we put towards our eyes all the time, is to save the Yemeni person and reach” Yemen without mines, “pointing out that the project seeks to achieve this bet constantly.

He continued: “The pores of a humanitarian project, aimed at purifying Yemeni lands from the fields of random mine, anti -individuals and anti -tanks, as well as explosive devices and uneven ammunition, which constitute a great obstacle to social and economic development efforts, and expose citizens to the dangers of generation after generation.”

He added: We are working on “controlling this human catastrophe and making sure that it does not exacerbate it and turn it into an unprecedented tragedy in the world,” stressing that the results are positive in this framework and that they feel “satisfied and proud of what we play in a human role, and we still have the same will and enthusiasm to reveal More mines and cleansing Yemen from these deadly boxes. ”

Qasim Al -Dossary said that the timing of “Yemen is completely clean of mines” cannot be expected, especially since there are still areas under the control of Houthi, and it is known that any area controlled by the Houthi militia is cordoning it with a belt of mines, as well as when leaving it left behind random mines.

He added that there are also areas that we have cleared more than once, due to the return of the Houthis to it and then their withdrawal from them, and after they left them and the return of the displaced, we received reports from the people of the accidents of an explosion, so our teams moved immediately to purify the same areas that we previously worked.

Al -Dossary pointed out that the problem of mines in Yemen is multi -faceted, including the random agriculture of mines and the lack of maps for them as well as the types of mines and methods of cultivation.

He pointed to the project, since the start of his work in Yemen in the middle of 2018 until now, to extract about 420 thousand mines, ammunition and an explosive device.
